Everybody is on the tablet craze this month ever since Apple announced it is having an event on the 27th for the rumored tablet allegedly.

I am kind of excepted at the chance that Apple might bring this tablet to light. Not because I want an Apple tablet, but more because it will cause a change in the industry. It has happened before when Apple released the iPod Touch. Which lead to many other companies doing their own take on the product. One of which is the ZuneHD, my personal favorite of the touchscreen MP3 players on the market.

If Apple presents a tablet I can feel rest assured that within a year a inexpensive tablet will come out which will finally let me have my dream computer. I stylus based capacitive touchscreen tablet that I can draw my comics into Photoshop with a 1:1 ratio. None of that Wacom mouse pad things.

I have my own take on what I thin he name will be for it. iPADD. The slate has been already taken by HP, and the tablet notebooks have been around for ages now so I doubt Apple will borrow such a played out name like iTablet only because previous tablets were not that great. iPAD has been tossed around a lot, which I sided with instantly because of its closeness with iPOD.

My reasoning with iPADD as opposed to iPAD can be addressed here. The pad everybody expects Apple to make closely resembles the PADD concept used in the Star Trek television series. It is also not the first time something shown in Star Trek directly influenced a product Apple has made.
